Dance Teacher (Ballet specialism)

Zero hours contract - hours available each week

in school term time to include weekends. Offered on a fixed term basis for an initial period of 12 months.

Basic pay of 31.07 per hour, plus holiday pay at 12.07%. Higher rates are payable for shared/ group lessons

As a Dance Teacher, you will support the delivery of the dance programmes, examinations and performances to pupils at College. Our ambition is for dance programmes at College to have a life-long impact on our pupils.


We have over 80 pupils currently attending lessons in Ballet, Modern, Contemporary and Tap. The Dance department caters for a wide range of styles and abilities, and offers private, semi-private and group lessons. Pupils can choose to work towards Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) examinations in Ballet, and Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) examinations in Modern, Contemporary and Tap. Recreational Dance is also offered during the week and provides opportunities for pupils to use their own creativity. Dance activities also feature in the Enrichment Programme at Cheltenham Ladies' College.


Experience in teaching RAD ballet in essential alongside the flexibility with hours to fulfil the needs of the dance department. Experience in teaching ISTD Modern, Contemporary and Tap is advantageous.


Anticipated schedule of 4 hours per week during term time. There is a possibility that more hours will become available dependent on the needs of College and the availability of the successful candidate.
