AW Dance Academy is looking for a dance teacher to join our team. Based in Harpenden Hertfordshire.

We are looking for a teacher on the day and times bellow.

Wednesday's (School term time only) - 15:20-17:30, 1 hour Dance After school club, then a 1 hour Ballet and Street Dance class, 30 minutes each style. All classes are aimed at children 7-11 years old.

The students work on their dance technique and learn fun Routines. In the After school club students learn a mixture of dance routines in contemporary, jazz, and commercial, and work on their technique in Jazz and contemporary. In ballet and Street students learn routines and work on their technique. Overall, the main aim is to ensure all students are having fun and progressing.

Overall We are looking for a dance teacher who is confident in teaching Jazz, Commercial, Contemporary and Ballet (Basic is fine). The teacher will need to be able to be work confidently teaching alone. The teacher will need to be committed to teaching every week.

Responsibilities: -

-Plan and deliver dance lessons to students of mix ability

- Teach different dance styles, such as Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary and Commercial

- Create choreography for performances

- Provide constructive feedback and guidance to students to help them improve their technique and performance

-Create a fun positive environment at all times

-Arrive 10 minutes before the class start to set up

- Create a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students

- Register all students into class on our app

-Be a positive roll model for the students

- Report any safeguarding concerns to our DSL

- Keep owner of school up to date with choreography process

- Collaborate with other dance teacher on show day

-Create positive relationships with Parents and Staff at the school you will be teaching in

-Keeping a positive and professional relationship with students at all times

- Be part and contribute to our teachers whats app group

-Be part of the a occasional short phone call/meeting with dance school owner

- Be confident teaching alone

-Following our safeguarding Policy

- Performing Frist aid when needed

- Run end of term work in process mini show for parents. (mini showcase dances been working on during the term)

Requirements: -

-Ability to teach independently

- At least 2 year experience as a dance teacher with children ages 7-11

- Strong communication skills

- Ability to effectively engage and motivate children

- Have your own speaker

-Public liability insurance

-Clean DBS

- level 1 safeguarding (preferred)

- First Aid certification (preferred)

- BA (hons) Degree in Dance or diploma from vocational training and/or gone through ISTD or RAD exams.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 25.00-27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 2 per week
