Dance Teacher

Bristol, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

Welcome to

Ignite Sport & Physical Education Limited

.

Thank you for your interest in joining Ignite Sport in the role of Dance Teacher.

Through positive experiences of PE, sport, and physical activity, Ignite Sport aims to engage and inspire as many children as possible to be active, healthy and fulfilled for life.

As our Dance Teacher, you will design and deliver outstanding Dance lessons and engaging sports sessions at our partner schools and community settings.

We are looking for outstanding individuals who are curious, compassionate and conscientious professionals. With a strong background in teaching Dance, you will be highly motivated by the opportunity to both develop your career and help shape the growth of an ambitious new company.

Ignite Sport's services

Ignite Sport provides outstanding physical education, sport, physical activity and pupil mentoring for schools.

We offer a flexible service to meet the individual requirements and context of each partner school. Our provision includes PPA cover, staff CPD training, pupil mentoring, active breakfast clubs, lunch clubs, after school sports clubs, and holiday sports camps.

We work closely with our partner schools, their PE leads and senior leaders, to help embed movement and physical activity across the school day, develop a progressive and inclusive PE curriculum and to ensure that our clubs and holiday sports camps are accessible for all, especially the most disadvantaged. Our coaches are flexible and conscientious. They support with additional aspects of PE, such as intra-school and inter-school tournaments and sports days.

Our philosophy

At Ignite Sport we believe that high quality physical education, sport, and physical activity can elevate every child's life, and that there is at least one sport/activity for every child.

With the first eleven years of a child's life playing a critical role in shaping their interests, habits, and attitudes towards physical activity, and sport, our overarching aim is to develop every child's physical literacy because active children are healthier, can concentrate for longer, are more resilient and are more likely to be happy.

We achieve this by creating learning and sporting environments that celebrate effort over ability, enable all participants to feel confident and safe, respected and trusted, and which foster positive self-reflection and self-worth.

The opportunity

I founded Ignite Sport in November 2024 following a 22-year career in the education, sports coaching, and charity sectors. From September 2014 to October 2024, I designed, launched, built and directed Bristol Sport Foundation's Forever Sport programme from a team of two to a team of over 50 who last year coached over 8,500 children in nearly 50 school and community settings every week.

As Ignite Sport's first Dance Teacher you will be part of a small, ambitious, and forward-thinking team. You will have the opportunity to co-design aspects of your role to ensure that you are happy, inspired, and motivated.

Within the fields of fitness, health, education, sport and physical activity, there is no ceiling to how Ignite Sport evolves or to who or what we deliver. I am looking for individuals who visualise being part of this exciting journey for years to come.
