We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed
Dance Teacher
with experience teaching
GCSE Dance
(practical and theory) to deliver high-quality lessons and contribute to the school's strong reputation for performing arts and academic achievement. This long-term role includes a full teaching timetable and offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' artistic and personal development.
Your Responsibilities
As a Dance Teacher, you will:
Set high expectations to inspire, motivate, and challenge students
Plan and deliver engaging practical and theory lessons aligned with the GCSE Dance syllabus
Teach key components of choreography, performance, and critical appreciation
Adapt teaching to meet the needs of all abilities
Prepare pupils for internal and external assessments and examinations
Mark and assess work promptly and effectively
Maintain a positive, safe, and productive studio/classroom environment
Additional contributions may include:
Supporting departmental planning and resource development
Contributing to school productions, showcases, and enrichment opportunities
Assisting with extracurricular Dance clubs and performance events
Participating in ongoing professional development
Communicating effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
What We're Looking For
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
or strong, referenceable Dance teaching experience
Experience teaching
GCSE Dance
, including theory, exam components, and syllabus knowledge
Strong subject knowledge in choreography, performance technique, and analysis of professional works
Ability to inspire and engage learners of all abilities
Excellent organisational and communication skills
A passion for Dance education and a commitment to helping students thrive
