We are seeking a passionate and experienced Dance Teacher to inspire students of all ages in our vibrant dance program. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various dance styles, including ballet, tap, acro, street and commercial, and have experience developing engaging curricula. This role involves teaching dance techniques, fostering creativity, and managing classroom environments to ensure a positive learning experience. Candidates with skills in classroom management, lesson planning, and experience working with children or adults are highly valued. The Dance Teacher will contribute to our mission of promoting artistic expression and physical development through dance education.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement comprehensive dance curricula tailored to different age groups and skill levels.
Teach dance techniques effectively while maintaining a safe and encouraging classroom environment.
Manage classroom behavior to promote discipline, respect, and focus among students.
Plan engaging lessons that incorporate elements of choreography, performance skills, and creative movement.
Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to support their growth.
Organize performances or showcases that allow students to demonstrate their skills confidently.
Adapt teaching methods for students with special needs or early childhood education requirements.
Collaborate with parents, caregivers, or other educators to support student development.
Maintain a clean and organized studio environment conducive to learning.
Qualifications
Proven experience in teaching a range of dance styles; experience with children and adult education preferred.
Strong skills in curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management.
Background in childhood development, special education, preschool experience, or early childhood education is advantageous.
Ability to work effectively with students of diverse backgrounds and skill levels.
Excellent communication skills and a nurturing attitude towards learners.
