Overview

We are very excited to announce that EKB Performing Arts are looking for a Saturday Manager and dance teacher for the launch of our Saturday's in January.

This is a great opportunity to join a wonderful teaching team with lots of support and a warm, friendly environment.

We have 2 positions available; a ballet teacher and a street dance/commercial teacher for a Saturday morning with either the ballet or street teacher also taking the role of manager to oversee and take control of the running of the morning.

Ballet Teacher

The desired ballet teacher will have trained at a vocational college and already teach to a high standard. RAD RTS is desirable but not essential at this point. You will have at least 2 years teaching experience teaching ages 3-12 having taught syllabus and free work. A warm and friendly face who is patient and passionate about what the do is desirable for this position.

Street Dance/Commercial Teacher

The desired street dance teacher will have trained at a vocational college and already teach to a high level. A qualification such as IDTA freestyle is desired but absolutely not essential. You will have at least 2 years experience teaching this side. Experience choreographing show and competition pieces is very much desirable. A current, vibrant and passionate teacher is ideal for this position.

Teacher Qualities

Teachers are to have excellent communication - especially the manager to report back to the principle every week and share ideas.

Teachers must be excellent time keepers who are happy to arrive before their class time to set up.

Teachers are to be able to converse with parents should there be any issues or feedback for the parents. You must be confident speaking to parents.

Teachers are to be enthusiastic, passionate and really love their job!

Ideally teachers are not still auditioning and/or performing as we are really looking for teachers who want to grow within the company and take on further hours.

Training courses may also be provided to further enhance teachers credibility.

Managerial Role

Ideally the manager will also teach one of the disciples listed above.

The manager is responsible for registers and collection and dismissal of children as well as setting up a clean and tidy dance studio.

The manager will look after props required (provided by EKB) and handle the keys to the premises so MUST be trustworthy.

The manager must be available to have a monthly meeting with the principal to enhance the running of the classes. (Paid for)

Pay

At EKB Performing Arts, we believe in paying teachers their worth. Please see below provisional pay for all EKB classes.

Assistants: 15ph non professional dancer, 20ph training to be a professional (at college)

General Teacher: 25ph

Manager: 35ph

After School Club (Teaching alone 20+ children): 35ph

After School Club (Teaching Alone less than 20 children): 25ph

After School Club Main Teacher: 28ph

After School Club Second Teacher/Assistant: 22ph

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent, Freelance, Zero hours contract

Pay: 20.00-40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 2 - 4 per week
