Oak Tree Surgery and Pensilva Health Centre are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Data and IT Administrator to join our expanding friendly and dynamic team on a Part-Time Permanent contract.

24-32 hours per week to cover 8am - 5:30pm Monday, Tuesday and Friday. Option of additional day on Thursday if required/desired.

Job summary:



JOB SUMMARRY:



To assist the IT Lead in developing the use of information technology to enable it to meet modernisation targets, maximise income and improve patient care.

Main Duties/Key Tasks:



Reviewing medical records and producing an accurate summary of the patient's medical history. Read Coding the information into the practice clinical system Help to achieve maximum points for QOF (Quality and Outcomes Framework) Claiming and auditing enhanced services via CQRS and other means Auditing data collection standards in the practice Monitoring progress of notes summarising against practice targets Monitoring patient call and recall systems Extraction of necessary data from clinical correspondence and input into electronic patient Record. To ensure the efficient running of the practice computer system, carrying out searches, audits and recalls as required by the doctors, nurses and manager. Ensure data is consistently entered and run to find anomalies Pro-actively initiate data quality improvement projects Set up and run clinical searches Ensure accurate report output Interrogate data for audit purposes Set up clinic templates Ensure security of data at all times To assist the IT Lead with any additional duties

Competencies



Excellent knowledge of Windows and MS Office Confident and proactive IT literate Good verbal and written communication skills Problem solving skills

The post-holder will assist in promoting and maintaining their own and others' health, safety and security as defined in the practice Health & Safety Policy, the practice Health & Safety Manual, and the practice Infection Control policy and published procedures. This will include:

Using personal security systems within the workplace according to Practice guidelines Identifying the risks involved in work activities and undertaking such activities in a way that manages those risks Making effective use of training to update knowledge and skills Using appropriate infection control procedures, maintaining work areas in a tidy and safe way and free from hazards Actively reporting health and safety hazards and infection hazards immediately when recognised Keeping own work areas and general / patient areas generally clean, assisting in the maintenance of general standards of cleanliness consistent with the scope of the job holder's role Undertaking periodic infection control training (minimum annually) Reporting potential risks identified

The post-holder will:
