Data & IT Manager - Scarborough, North Yorkshire
Salary: 50,000 - 60,000 (DOE)
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (37.5 hours)
Location: Onsite

We're searching for someone who can confidently take ownership of IT within a dynamic SME. You'll be the go-to person for everything from database design and SQL development to infrastructure management, security, and user support. Just as importantly, you'll influence how data is used across the business - helping people work smarter, make better decisions, and deliver results.
If you've worked in manufacturing, logistics, or another high-pressure environment, you'll know the demands: quick thinking, practical solutions, and the ability to keep systems moving without slowing down production. That's exactly what we need here.
What You'll Do

• Lead and shape the company's IT function, setting direction while staying hands-on day to day.
• Design, implement, and maintain SQL databases - using SSIS/SSRS to manage reporting, integrations, and data flow.
• Oversee IT infrastructure, including virtual servers, storage, and firewalls.
• Support and develop business-critical systems across production, CRM, and logistics.
• Champion data accuracy and system security, ensuring compliance with ISO27001 and best practice standards.
• Create disaster recovery and business continuity plans that are practical and robust.
• Solve problems quickly and resourcefully in a fast-moving SME environment.
• Mentor and support a small IT team while building strong relationships with stakeholders across the business.

What We're Looking For

• Strong SQL background with experience in database engineering, data analysis, or system integration.
• Experience in a manufacturing, logistics, or factory-style setting.
• Proven ability to deliver IT projects, improve workflows, and make data-led decisions.
• Solid understanding of IT security and ISO27001 compliance.
• Personable, confident, and able to influence at all levels
