Please note, ideally we would seek a candidate who can be hyrbid from Glasgow or London, but this role can be remote subject to location.


We are seeking a detail-driven

QA Tester

to join our team on a

large-scale data migration project

. You'll play a critical role in ensuring that migrated data meets the highest quality standards, profiling data, writing and executing quality rules, and championing data integrity across all dimensions of the data quality framework.

Key Responsibilities:



Carry out in-depth

data profiling

on source and target systems to validate data before, during, and after migration. Define, document, and execute

data quality rules

to ensure data meets business and regulatory requirements. Ensure all

data quality dimensions

(accuracy, completeness, consistency, timeliness, validity, uniqueness) are met. Provide

feedback to data engineers

to remediate issues quickly. Write and run

SQL queries

(MySQL) to test and validate large datasets. Write database logic as stored procedures and functions. Document findings and

communicate results

clearly to stakeholders. Act as a

data quality champion

, promoting its importance across the project team.

Qualifications

Proven experience in

QA testing

on

large-scale data migrations

within the public sector. Strong

SQL skills

. Excellent

attention to detail

and problem-solving skills. Clear communicator, able to translate technical issues for non-technical audiences. Understanding of

data transformations, ETL workflows, and migration processes

. Experience with

data quality tools

such as

Great Expectations, Microsoft Purview and YData-Profiling

. Experience testing BI Dashboards

Desirable:



Familiarity with Oracle or other relational databases. Experience in case management or enterprise systems.
