Paragon Home Healthcare

is seeking an

experienced

carer for a

12-hour Day Shift

to support a

friendly

teenage client living in an adapted flat in the

Wandsworth SW18

area. The client has sustained a

spinal cord injury

, resulting in paralysis from the chest down. As he prepares to return to college, you will play a crucial role in assisting him throughout the day, including accompanying him on bus journeys to and from college. We are looking for a

friendly

and

sociable

carer who enjoys

football

and

gaming.



Your responsibilities will include providing personal care, supporting daily living tasks, and offering companionship to encourage his successful re-engagement with college life.

With this client, you'll be engaged in a Rota of 3-4 or more shifts a week

. Alternatively, if eligible, you can be a part of our Standby rota,

working conveniently from home

. To support your journey, we provide

comprehensive training, equipping you to excel in your caregiving role.

Please note:

A valid child DBS is required for this role.

Job type: Day Shift -8 AM-8 PM (12 hrs) with a second carer 8 AM- 5 PM Weekends



Pay rate: 14.75 per hour

(Monday to Friday)

/ 17.70 per hour

(Weekends); more on bank holidays

Care Job Overview



As a Carer (sometimes referred to as a Personal Assistant), you will assist the client with daily care, activities of daily living, and mobility needs. Specific duties will be detailed in the Client's care plan and daily activities, managed through our electronic visit system. Responsibilities include personal care, spinal injury toileting, mobility support, meal preparation, and more. Comprehensive training and support are provided to ensure you can deliver the necessary care.

Responsibilities



Observe and record the client's health status. Assist clients with activities of daily living. Ensure the client's safety. Maintain client confidentiality. Notify clients of changes in medications. Arrange transportation for client appointments.

Requirements to Work with Us



Experience in spinal injury care preferred Available to work 8am - 8pm with one hour overlap with the night shift carer Complete our online application form. Right to work in the UK. Enhanced (DBS) check or online sign-up. References.
