Mucky Pups Childcare is a large day nursery on the outskirts of Corby. It is a family run business with only one nursery. It has easy links to Kettering, Market Harborough, Rutland and Stamford which all take 15/20 minuets to travel. The nursery has been in operation for 11 years with a continuous Good OFSTED report, and is highly reputable within the town.

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced 3rd in charge/Deputy Manager to join our team. During the term time the ideal candidate would be assistant deputy. In the school holidays they would be acting Deputy, with extra pay for the responsibility. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a passion for working with children in a nursery or childcare setting. This role involves supporting the daily operations of our facility, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for all children while effectively following policy's and procedures, and managing staff and resources.

This position is a full time/all year round role which will require someone flexible, reliable, and to be able work during the school holidays.

Essential to the role

Minimum level 3 qualification in Early Years Educator (not Health & social care) or Level 3 equivalent in Early Years Education (full and relevant)

Proven track record in leadership and management within a childcare setting.

Minimum of 1 year senior role experience in an early years setting.

Sound knowledge of Safeguarding regulations

Sound knowledge of the EYFS

Experience in leasing with outside organisations

Able to work a flexible 8 hour shift, between the hours of 7am and 6pm

Ability to work during school holidays


Desirable to the role

SEND experience First Aid Knowledge of Behavioural management Knowledge of the OFSTED Standard

Responsibilities



Provide high-quality care and education to children in a nursery setting, ensuring their safety and well-being. Managing staff in the Manager and Deputy Managers absence. Work alongside the Manager to help with the daily running of the Nursery. Ensuring all policies and procedures are met by all staff. Ensuring Health and Safety accross the whole site at all times. Manage children's behaviour effectively, using positive reinforcement strategies. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about children's progress and needs. Maintain first aid certifications and adhere to health and safety regulations, and safeguarding. Collaborate with team members to foster a supportive and nurturing environment.
The company follows safer recruitment policies and will require a minimum of 2 references and an enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities



Assist the Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the nursery or childcare centre in the absence of the Deputy Manager. Foster a positive and engaging atmosphere for children, promoting their development and well-being. Lead, motivate, and manage staff to ensure high standards of care and education are maintained. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, providing updates on children's progress and addressing any concerns. Implement early childhood education programmes that align with best practices and regulatory requirements. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and safeguarding policies to maintain a secure environment for children. Drive initiatives that enhance the quality of care and education provided to children.
