As a key member of the team, you will work to improve individuals' financial wellbeing by providing advice and support those struggling with debt and money worries in our community.
Main Duties
Provide face-to-face advice to individuals (including by telephone and video conferencing), performing the duties of a debt advisor.
Manage a caseload of clients, including all records are kept up to date and all communication with clients is managed.
Work with our volunteer coordinator to support volunteers to provide debt advice to clients.
Build relationships with local individuals and organisations to ensure referral to and from debt advice.
Network, communicate and promote St. Andrew's Community Network money services to a wide audience including local people, agencies and national organisations.
Work closely with the CEO and Trustees to develop future services, to influence and change money policy.
Participate in relevant networks and forums relating to Money Advice.
To support the direct delivery of high-quality debt advice work.
Adhere to policies and procedures as set out by St. Andrew's Community Network, AQS, CMA and FCA.
To participate in continuing professional development, including maintaining specialist debt advice qualifications.
Undertake other such duties as maybe required, especially in support of the other activities delivered by St Andrew's Community Network.
Key Skills

1. Fully qualified debt advisor - E (top up training provided)
2. Have current Debt Relief Order Approved Intermediary status - E (If not, you must be willing to work towards this)
3. To have full working knowledge of all debt solutions and be able to use the appropriate debt solution for each client depending on their individual circumstances - E
4. Acting for the Client where necessary by calculating, negotiating, drafting, or writing letters and telephoning - E
5. Negotiating with third parties as appropriate - E
6. Assisting Clients with other related problems where they are an integral part of their case and refer to other advisers or specialist agencies as appropriate - E
7. Experience of face-to-face advice work - E
8. IT literate, and able to use office-based software - E
9. Excellent Communication skills - both written and oral - E
10. Ability to plan, organise and manage workload - E
11. Full clean driving license and access to a car for work purposes - E
12. Experience of debt advice in a community setting - D
