About The Role
Reporting to the Senior Risk Support Manager, this is a field-based role offering the flexibility of mainly remote working with occasional visits to our Chester Head office. You'll have the exciting opportunity to cover a wide patch across the South West and South of England from Penzance to Brighton and up to North West London. You'll need to be comfortable with travel, with occasional overnight stays and you'll play a key role supporting our dealer network across this diverse and dynamic area.
Your time will be spent:
40% Negotiating with and collecting from customers
40% Coaching, training and supporting dealers
20% Reporting and administration
This is a varied role where you'll combine negotiation skills, relationship-building, and risk management expertise to support our dealer network.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Default Risk Account Manager, you'll play a key role in protecting NextGear Capital's investment while supporting our dealer network. You'll assess dealer "health" by analysing risk indicators, stock positions and account performance, before collaborating with head office to decide the best course of action.
Your responsibilities will include:
Risk assessment & decision-making
- Evaluate accounts, determine whether to support, recover, or exit relationships, and report findings for collaborative decisions.
Account recovery & resolution
- Execute tailored action plans, from collections tactics to recovery strategies, ensuring the effective disposition of floored inventory where needed.
Dealer coaching & rehabilitation
- Re-educate and guide dealers back to compliance, focusing on sales administration and best practice to strengthen their performance.
Collaboration
- Work closely with office-based Risk teams and local field colleagues to deliver training, support, and account management strategies.
This role combines analytical thinking, negotiation, and relationship management. From spotting early warning signs to driving resolution, you'll make a real impact on both dealer performance and our business success.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for a confident, driven professional who can combine risk management with relationship-building. To succeed in this role, you'll bring:
Proven skills in negotiation, collections and resolving account issues.
Experience conducting direct dealer collections on an assigned portfolio (field-based recovery experience is a plus).
The ability to work remotely while maintaining open, proactive communication with office-based colleagues.
Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise, plan dealer visits, and escalate issues when needed.
Willingness and flexibility to travel extensively across the South West and South of England up to North West London, including overnight stays, early starts/late finishes when required).
IT proficiency, especially in Microsoft Excel and Word.
Confident communication skills - both verbal and written, with the ability to engage at all levels.
A professional, enthusiastic approach with strong attention to detail.
A collaborative mindset -- a team player who is equally capable of working independently.
Knowledge of the automotive industry would be advantageous, although not essential.
