Job description
We are recruiting for an Information Assurance Officer to join our Defence Digital Strategic Networks, Computers and Communications(NCC) team. You will be responsible for:
Applying operational knowledge and decision-making skills to support the effective management of knowledge and information.
Understanding and applying information security principles to ensure KIM (Knowledge and Information Management) systems protect organisational data.
Staying up to date with legislative changes affecting information governance and adjust practices accordingly.
Supporting the wider team in assessing and advising on information risk.
Maintaining up-to-date and fit-for-purpose information management processes in line with KIM guidelines.
Providing advice and promote best practices related to information and knowledge management.
Supporting information audits to safeguard assets and ensure appropriate controls are in place.
Person specification
This role would suit an individual with:
+ Experience managing information and knowledge across its lifecycle.
+ Sound understanding of information security principles and their practical application in information systems.
+ Knowledge of current legislation and standards related to information governance and data protection (or a willingness to learn).
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
+ The ability to provide clear, practical advice and promote best practice in knowledge and information management.
+ The ability to influence and deliver key messages clearly to support KIM objectives across an organisation.
+ Familiarity with tools and platforms used for corporate collaboration and document storage (e.g., SharePoint, Microsoft 365).
If not already held, successful candidates will be required to undergo security checks including DV clearance . Please note this position is open to Sole British (UK nationals) only.
This post requires British nationality (some dual nations may be eligible) and Developed Vetting (DV) clearance. As the post holder will have access to very sensitive information, there are limitations on travelling to a small number of countries and we will undertake additional security checks as part of the recruitment process. Due to the nature of the post, you will be required to attend site daily with limited opportunity to work remotely. The successful candidate is required to carry out all their duties from a UK location and cannot do so from an overseas location at any time. Dependent on the 'tasking' and business need, there will be a requirement to travel to meetings within the UK (and may be potential occasional overseas visits).
