We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Deli Assistant to join our team. In this role you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service while preparing and serving a variety of deli products. You will play a key role in ensuring food safety standards are met and maintaining a clean and organised work environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion and interest in fine food, excellent skills in customer service and communication, and the ability to learn quickly and adapt to team working.
Responsibilities
Prepare and serve deli items, including cheeses, olives and meat products in accordance with food safety regulations
Maintain high levels of cleanliness and organisation of the deli
Assist customers with product knowledge and recommendations
Monitor inventory levels and assist with restocking supplies as needed.
Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure the safety and quality of all products
Be available for weekend work
Collaborate with team members to ensure the highest standards are maintained at all times
Prepare and pack online orders to a professional standard
Exceptional time keeping and uphold the high standards of the business in both presentation and service
Requirements
Previous experience in a retail or speciality food is preferred
Knowledge of food preparation techniques and food safety standards is essential
Fluent in English (Grade C at GCSE English Language or equivalent is preferred)
Basic math skills for handling transactions and managing inventory ( Grade C at GCSE Maths or equivalent is preferred)
Strong time management abilities to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service
Culinary experience or training is an advantage but not mandatory
Full clean UK Driving licence is
preferred
Ability to work effectively within a team while also being self-motivated.
Temporary Position with
possibility of extension
3 months temporary contract
Potential for permanent contract for ideally candidate
