Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Deli chef to join our small, exciting team here at Neighbourhood. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and serving next-level sandwiches , salads and a variety of other deli products, with an emphasis on fresh, seasonal local produce.

You will play a key part in ensuring that our customers receive high-quality food in a welcoming and truly independent environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, strong hospitality skills, and the ability to work effectively in a kitchen setting. You should also be comfortable with thinking creatively to develop and produce new and exciting sandwich offerings, whilst adhering to pre-agreed profit margins.

Hours will Tues - Saturday 8-4 with benefits including, Free shift meals and store staff discount.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve menu items, including sandwiches, salads and deli boards, ensuring high standards of food safety and presentation. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering to health and safety regulations. Develop and produce new and exciting sandwich offerings, whilst adhering to pre-agreed profit margins. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including slicers and scales. Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management to ensure availability of fresh products. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods. Support training of new staff members by demonstrating best practices in food preparation and customer service.

Skills

Strong hospitality skills with a focus on customer satisfaction. Experience in food production or preparation is highly desirable. Leadership qualities to supervise team members when necessary. Knowledge of food safety standards and practices is essential. Ability to work effectively in a kitchen environment, demonstrating culinary skills as needed. Excellent communication skills to interact positively with customers and colleagues alike. A proactive approach to problem-solving and helping others in the team.

Pay: 12.50-15.00 per hour
