Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Delivery Driver / shop floor operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the timely delivery of goods to our customers while maintaining a high standard of service. This role requires effective communication skills and the ability to manage deliveries efficiently. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial driving and be comfortable with heavy lifting.

Duties

Safely operate a delivery vehicle, ensuring compliance with all traffic laws and regulations. Load and unload goods, performing heavy lifting as necessary. Navigate routes efficiently to ensure timely deliveries. Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and customers regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including any discrepancies or damages. Conduct regular vehicle inspections to ensure safety and functionality. Assist in warehouse duties as required, including inventory management and organisation of goods.

Requirements

Valid driving licence with a clean driving record; experience as a van driver or in commercial driving is preferred. Strong communication skills to interact positively with customers and team members. Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks associated with loading and unloading deliveries. Previous experience in a delivery or warehouse environment is advantageous but not essential. A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
