Overview

We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver who owns a car or a van to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods efficiently and safely to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries. Candidates must possess a valid driver's licence and have previous experience in delivery or commercial driving.

Duties

Safely operate your own vehicles, including vans and cars, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations. Load and unload goods, often requiring heavy lifting, ensuring items are secured properly for transit. Plan delivery routes to optimise efficiency and meet scheduled delivery times. Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules or any unforeseen delays. Maintain accurate records of deliveries made, mileage, and vehicle maintenance issues. Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure safety standards are met. Assist in warehouse activities when not on the road, including stock organisation and inventory checks.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a delivery driver or in commercial driving roles. Valid driver's licence suitable for the vehicle type being operated. Experience with warehouse operations is advantageous. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently. Strong communication skills to interact professionally with clients and team members. Knowledge of local routes and traffic regulations is preferred. Physical fitness to handle the demands of the role, including lifting heavy items and long periods of driving.
