Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Delivery Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods to various customer sites, ensuring timely and safe delivery. This role requires effective communication skills and the ability to handle a medium to heavy level of lifting as part of daily operations. The ideal candidate will possess experience in commercial driving and have a strong understanding of warehouse procedures.

Duties

Operate a long wheelbase van to deliver goods to designated locations all within a fixed delivery route efficiently and safely. The van is refrigerated, and training will be provided to ensure efficient use and operation of the fridge unit. Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition. Product Knowledge training will be provided over the course of 2-3 days Unload orders from the van, and use a heavy duty trolley to transport the order to the customer, ensuring that all items are handled with care to prevent damage. Maintain accurate delivery logs and records, including any discrepancies or issues encountered during deliveries. Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and customers regarding delivery schedules and any changes. Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while driving. Assist in the warehouse as needed, including inventory management and organisation of stock. Check to ensure the customer order is correct and checked at customer store. All customers and delivery routes have been a part of our If any items short/missing upon delivery - to follow procedure. Collect payment from customer if required.

Qualifications

Previous experience as a Delivery Driver or Van Driver is preferred. Valid driving licence with a clean driving record; commercial driving experience is advantageous. Ability to perform heavy lifting as required during unloading and transportation of goods. Strong communication skills to interact with customers and team members effectively. Familiarity with warehouse operations and logistics is a plus. A proactive attitude towards safety and compliance with all regulations.
