Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining excellent communication with clients and team members. The ideal applicant will have previous experience in delivery or commercial driving, possess good communication skills, and be comfortable with physical tasks including heavy lifting.

Responsibilities

Safely operate company vehicles, including vans or lorries, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations. Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to ensure timely arrival at destinations. Load and unload goods, often requiring heavy lifting, ensuring items are secured properly for transit. Maintain accurate delivery documentation and obtain necessary signatures upon delivery. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding delivery schedules or issues encountered. Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure safety standards are met. Report any vehicle maintenance issues promptly to minimise downtime.

Experience

Proven experience as a delivery driver or in commercial driving roles. Valid driver's licence appropriate for the vehicle type (e.g., car, van, or lorry). Experience working in warehouse environments or handling goods is advantageous. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently. Strong communication skills to interact professionally with clients and colleagues. Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and route planning tools.
