Company Background:

D & M Design & Fabrication Ltd is a successful and fast paced sheet metal subcontract business based near Ripon, North Yorkshire. We are proud and passionate about our business and are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

Take responsibility for preparing and packaging goods for delivery, including positioning items safely and carefully on pallets so as to avoid any damage in transit. Shrink wrap and label pallets ready for despatch.

Safely load the vehicle with items to be delivered. This will involve driving a counterbalance forklift truck.

Carry out checks on load, to ensure it is safe before setting off.

When out on the road, you will need to be organised, sticking to agreed delivery times on a multi drop run.

You will be representing the D&M brand to customers, so will need to be an excellent ambassador for the business.

Be organised and responsible for the delivery paperwork, ensuring that the customers sign the delivery notes and the completed paperwork is given to the relevant person in the office to despatch.

Complete daily and weekly vehicle Health and Safety checks prior to driving the vehicles.

Be responsible for cleaning company vehicles daily, to ensure they look well looked after and presentable.

Ensure vehicles are brought back to site with a full fuel tank.

Adopt a safe driving style at all times when operating company vehicles.

Carry out other tasks as and when required to help out in the workshop.

Must be willing to be flexible to start before contracted start time and finish after contracted finish time on a regular basis to ensure delivery schedules are met.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience Required:

Current Forklift Counterbalance licence preferable, but we will put the right applicant through a course if required.

Must have held a valid UK (manual) driving licence for a minimum of 2 years, with no more than 3 penalty points.

Must have recent experience of driving a long wheel based van.

Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and positive attitude, as this is a customer facing role where you are representing the business.

Ability to read a map and programme/ follow a sat nav system.

Must be punctual and reliable.

Demonstrate flexibility to work overtime when required.

Some manual handling will be required to load goods for delivery.

Contract:

Full Time, Permanent

Working Hours:

Monday to Friday 07:30 to 16:00.

Must be willing to be flexible and work extra hours / be available for overtime when required, including on weekends.

Salary:

From 13 per hour, rate negotiable depending on experience.
