Overview

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Delivery Driver to join our team. This role involves safely transporting goods to various destinations across the South of England, London and the west country. Providing excellent customer service, and ensuring timely deliveries. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in driving commercial vehicles, handling heavy loads, and maintaining a professional attitude on the road. Previous warehouse experience and familiarity with the electrical wholesale industry and the construction industry are preferred. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a focus on efficiency and customer satisfaction. Hours of work are Mon-Fri 8a.m - 5.30pm and every other Saturday 8.30a.m - 12pm.

Responsibilities

Safely operate box trucks and other commercial vehicles to deliver goods to customers across designated routes Load and unload products using forklifts, pallet jacks, or manual handling techniques Ensure accurate loading and securement of cargo to prevent damage during transit Follow route schedules and navigation plans to meet delivery deadlines Provide exceptional customer service by interacting professionally with clients during deliveries Inspect vehicles regularly for safety issues and report any maintenance needs Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation Assist with warehouse tasks as needed, including inventory management and stock organization Adhere to all safety regulations and traffic laws during operations

Experience

Proven experience as a delivery driver, courier, or in a similar role involving route driving and load handling Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; commercial driver's license (CDL) preferred but not mandatory depending on vehicle size Experience operating box trucks or similar large vehicles with manual transmission preferred Familiarity with warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks is advantageous Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks related to moving goods efficiently and safely Prior experience working in warehouse environments or logistics is beneficial
