Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods efficiently and safely to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries. This role requires excellent driving skills, good communication, and the ability to handle physical tasks associated with loading and unloading. The ideal applicant will have prior delivery experience and a clean driving record, with a focus on providing exceptional service to our customers.

Responsibilities

Safely operate company vehicles, including vans or lorries, to deliver goods to clients and distribution centres. Plan delivery routes to optimise efficiency and meet scheduled deadlines. Load and unload items, often involving heavy lifting, ensuring items are secured properly for transit. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams and customers regarding delivery times or any issues encountered. Maintain accurate delivery documentation and obtain necessary signatures upon receipt. Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly. Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations during deliveries.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role, preferably with commercial driving experience. Valid driver's licence with a clean driving record. Experience in warehouse operations or handling heavy lifting is advantageous. Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan routes efficiently. Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with clients and team members. Ability to work independently, demonstrating reliability and punctuality. Physical fitness for lifting heavy items and performing manual handling tasks as required.
