Job Summary:



Manages the delivery strategy, leads teams and is accountable for the overall performance of Areas they are assigned to. Leads and coordinates with all relevant parties to deliver project objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs). Provides direction and leadership of the project and the project team.


This position is a client-facing role, responsible for leading teams and accountable for the delivery strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

To support and report to the Project Director, defining & managing the delivery strategy. Responsible for the safe delivery of a large part of the HS2 Euston programme. Responsible for the co-ordination between the procurement, design, construction and assurance teams to ensure the sub-contractors can progress work on site in accordance with the schedule of works. Recruit, develop and lead high performing teams that strives for quality, safety, cost, and schedule improvements at every opportunity with all delivery partners, challenging and seeking to improve the project deliverables. Line Manager to Senior Project Managers and Heads of Functions. Accountable for project timeframes and project budgets and ensures budgets are managed diligently and highlights any risks, challenges, and mitigations. To ensure that client requirements are met, ensuring that all quality, assurance, and compliance documentation is provided in a timely manner, collaborating with relevant parties/stakeholders. Ensure project teams are monitoring works to achieve right first-time work and undertaking lessons learnt reviews to promote continuous improvement, while maintaining daily records. Directly responsible of all support functions from a project perspective and work with Function Leads to ensure sufficient subject matter expert support is in place to meet project demands. Drive the procurement of services and works required to deliver the project. Review and approve all scope of works prior to tender Manage the overall client interaction and relationship. To be the point of escalation from Senior Project Managers and Heads of Functions for project risks. Responsible for project report to the Client and Directors including progress of the works, actual cost, forecast and highlighting any problems and issues for resolution. Promote and deliver a collaborative environment throughout all members of the team including stakeholders and the supply chain. Establish and maintain site organisation and facilitate effective communications between the Employers' representatives. Ensure all packages starting on site have an approved readiness review. To promote, champion and lead the implementation of all best practice, safety management and safety initiatives across all aspect of design and site delivery, to lead a safe and healthy working environment for all. Area Lead for safety and quality investigations. Ensure root causes are found, lessons are learnt, and control measures implemented to prevent recurrence. Identify, develop and lead the implementation of project improvement initiatives. Provide subject matter expertise and guidance to support the success of the broader Mace and Dragados projects.

Qualifications, Certifications and Experience:

Proven Team Leadership. Team sizes 30+ people. Proven experience in overseeing budgetary and NEC contracts. Proven proficiency in Client and Stakeholder management. Proven understanding of project management methodologies and practices. Have excellent communication skills (including presentation skills) in English and the ability to report at Director and Board level. Proven problem solving and analytical skills across estimating, scheduling, contracts administration, procurement, financial controls and reporting for planning, estimating, contract administration and procurement issues for various procedural, construction, and design activities. Proven technical expertise in Health and Safety Executive (HSE) rules and regulations. Able to operate at the highest level of compliance. Ability to manage teams of people in a multi-disciplinary environment. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to plan ahead and manage own time. Membership of an appropriate Professional body MCIOB/MAPM/MRICS/MICE (or local equivalent). Experience within a similar role within an appropriately sized organisation Experience in the successful construction delivery phase of projects and programmes. Demonstrable evidence of deep project management expertise. Appropriate Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card (or equivalent local safety certification). Previous experience on rail projects across London Underground, Network Rail, Crossrail Excellent understanding of all MEPFC systems, codes, BS and LU standards relevant to the works Experienced dealing with MEP designers, contractors and subcontractors
