You will be working within our OVO Technology Agile Delivery function. Our OVO Tech Agile Delivery function provides delivery support across a range of cross functional product squads within pods, projects and programmes that enable all of OVO group companies to deliver on their mission.



Delivery Lead roles at OVO are responsible for working with a broad range of people that include exceptionally talented Principal Project Managers, Agile Coaches, Principal Product Managers, Senior Product Managers, Product Managers, Principal Engineers, Software Engineers, Designers, Researchers, Data Scientists and Marketers to build products that our users love.




This role in a nutshell:





Manage the day to day delivery of cross team initiatives within a Pod, across multiple Pods, within our enabling areas or within large programmes across OVO Tech. Helping to ensure fast and efficient delivery of our new initiatives and capabilities whilst improving our ways of working.




Your key outcomes will be:




Your career with OVO Tech will be varied: OVO's Tech Agile Delivery consists of a variety of delivery approaches, based on what's best to get the work done with the teams involved. We prioritise learning with teams, giving you space to agree on the delivery approach.


You will have accountability for deliveries in one or more of our pods or across multiple pods. These pods together provide all of the technology which allows us to support our customers.
You will be part of the Agile Delivery function, working with product and engineering cross functional teams to deliver great outcomes for our customers but also helping to continually improve tech delivery, and support and develop our teams.



You'll be a successful Delivery Lead at OVO if you...




Have strong leadership skills and have experience managing a number of teams within product groups, portfolios or domains delivering amazing outcomes Have good experience and awareness of agile techniques and optimising delivery processes at team and above team level. You will have experience putting these skills to work to enable smooth flow of work through technology teams and across product groups, portfolios or pods with a focus on ensuring delivery of desired outcomes. You will be able to converse with stakeholders and teams to shape their problems and the delivery approach. You do not need to be an expert in technology but you should have a good awareness of the technologies, capabilities and skills required for a team and domain to be successful in this space.

Agile and Lean practices





Know about and can lead on a range of Agile and Lean tools and techniques, with an ability to coach within and outside of your team. You can establish a feedback loop for teams; you can take responsibility for the translation and measurement of value (what you put in and what you will get out).


Commercial management





Can support effective budget management within the constraints of the domain or initiative. You know how to monitor projected budgets against expenditure.


Communication skills





Know how to communicate effectively across organisational, technical and political boundaries, understanding the context. You can advocate and communicate what a team does to create trust and authenticity. You know how to successfully react and respond to challenges.


Life-cycle perspective





Understand the different phases of delivery and can contribute to, plan or run these. Can maintain a product or process through the delivery phases, into live and then into retirement. You know how to lead a team through the different phases of the delivery product life cycle. You understand incident management and service support so that products are built effectively.


Maintaining delivery momentum





Can solve issues and unblock problems. You know how to drive a team and set the pace, ensuring teams are working towards delivery commitments. You can engage in elements of risk management such as effectively managing and tracking the mitigation of risks. You can manage various dependencies across teams and departments.


Making the process work





Focus on the outcome, not frameworks. You can challenge and improve disproportionate organisational processes where it impacts the pace of the team. You can identify what works best for the team and when to utilise certain processes.


Planning





You can take a consistent and ongoing approach to planning, forecasting, estimating, managing uncertainty, metrics and measurements, contingency planning and roadmapping. You know how to communicate plans, planning assumptions and progress to a range of stakeholders. You can maintain the cadence of delivery and manage the relationships between different people within and across teams.


Team dynamics and collaboration





You know how to build successful delivery teams. You understand team styles and how people work together. You can maintain, influence and motivate a team. You can give and receive feedback, facilitating the feedback loop.



You can ensure the health of a team and facilitate conflict resolution, accelerating team performance. You can ensure that the team works in a transparent way and that the work is understood externally.

We'll pay you between 60,000 and 85,000, depending on your specific skills and experience.



We keep our pay ranges broad on purpose to give us, and you, flexibility to match your experience to our zero carbon mission.



You'll be eligible for an on-target bonus of 15%. We have one OVO bonus plan that focuses on the collective performance of our people to deliver our Plan Zero goal.
