Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to a couple with dementia who live in their own home, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to follow care plans while fostering a supportive environment for our clients.

Responsibilities

Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and meal preparation. Support clients in following their individual care plans, ensuring that their specific needs are met. Maintain accurate records of client progress and any changes in their condition. Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care. Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, promoting their independence and dignity. Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required, ensuring safe transportation. Utilise IT systems for documentation and communication purposes as needed. Adhere to health and safety regulations while maintaining a clean and organised environment.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is desirable but not essential. Previous experience working with clients with dementia Strong communication skills in English are required for effective interaction with clients and team members. A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting clients when necessary. Basic IT skills are necessary for maintaining records and using care management software. A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others is essential. Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated when required.
