The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, repair, and validation of a wide range of dental decontamination equipment, including autoclaves ,washer-disinfectors, ultrasonic baths, and water purification systems, within dental practices.
This role requires the candidate to be able to travel between our sites.
Must be committed to ensure equipment compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., HTM 01-05, HTM 2010, HTM 2030, EN 13060, EN 15883).
Main tasks;
Installation & Commissioning:
Install new decontamination equipment according to manufacturer specifications and site requirements.
Conduct comprehensive commissioning tests and ensure correct operation before handover to the client.
Provide basic user training to dental practice staff on equipment operation and daily maintenance.
Preventative Maintenance & Servicing:
Perform routine scheduled preventative maintenance on decontamination equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
Identify and replace worn or faulty components.
Calibrate instruments and perform functional checks as per service schedules.
Repair & Troubleshooting:
Diagnose and troubleshoot faults on a variety of decontamination equipment efficiently and accurately.
Carry out effective repairs using appropriate tools and genuine spare parts.
Provide timely response to breakdown calls and minimize equipment downtime for clients.
Validation & Testing:
Execute validation protocols (e.g., annual, quarterly) for autoclaves and washer-disinfectors in accordance with relevant standards (e.g., HTM 01-05, EN 13060, EN 15883).
Perform performance qualification (PQ), operational qualification (OQ), and installation qualification (IQ) where required.
Generate accurate and detailed validation reports and certificates.
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of all service, maintenance, repair, and validation activities using company systems (e.g., CRM, service management software).
Complete service reports, job sheets, and expense reports in a timely and professional manner.
Manage and track spare parts inventory in the field.
Customer Service & Relationship Management:
Provide excellent customer service, acting as a professional and knowledgeable representative of the company.
Communicate effectively with clients regarding service status, technical issues, and recommendations.
Build and maintain positive working relationships with dental practice staff and managers.
Compliance & Safety:
Ensure all work is carried out in strict adherence to health and safety regulations and company policies.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant industry standards (e.g., HTM 01-05, CQC requirements in the UK) and best practices.
Adhere to quality management system procedures.
Training & Development:
Continuously update technical knowledge and skills through manufacturer training, internal training, and self-study.
Participate in team meetings and training sessions as required.
General:
Manage time effectively to meet service level agreements (SLAs) and daily schedules.
Maintain company vehicle, tools, and test equipment in good working order.
Be available for out-of-hours call-outs on a rota basis, if required.

Working Conditions:
Field-based role.
Regular interaction with dental professionals and practice staff.
May involve lifting and carrying equipment and tools.
Exposure to dental practice environments, which may include biohazards (with appropriate PPE).
