We are looking for a dental nurse/receptionist [qualified or trainee], to become part of our busy, friendly Dental Practice. We have a part-time role available, a minimum of 23.5 hours per week [Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays]. You will be required to assist chairside as well as work on reception. We also require flexibility with the working hours as we would need the successful candidate to be able to cover staff holidays and/or illness.
We prefer candidates to have knowledge and experience of the R4+ dental software. However, this is not essential, as training will be given.
Our ideal candidate will:
Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
Have knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel although this is not essential
Be a qualified dental nurse with GDC registration and up to date with CPD requirements
Have GCSE Maths and English of grade A-C if applying as a trainee to be able to be accepted onto the training course [More working hours are available if required by the dental nurse course]

Responsibilities:
Answering the telephone and communicating effectively with patients.
Welcoming patients into the practice, completing all the necessary documentation for patient data etc. ensuring full patient confidentiality at all times.
Collecting payments and performing general office duties such as handling telephone enquiries, photocopying, filing etc.
Assist the dentist during all procedures, set up and clean down the surgery for each patient
Maintaining a high level of infection control when sterilizing instruments etc
Updating patients records on the computer system during the dental appointment - charting etc
Knowledge of dental software program R4+ would also be an advantage but not essential as full training will be given.
Keeping the surgery well stocked and all other aspects of patient care etc
The rate of pay will be confirmed dependant on whether the successful candidate is qualified, their age and experience, or if a trainee.
This position could be a good stepping stone for someone who wishes to attend university to enter the dental profession at a further level.
