Job Description

Hayes Croft Dental practice is under new ownership and is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Dental Nurse to join our team & practice in Barnsley.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing chairside assistance to our dental professionals, ensure the smooth running of clinical procedures and deliver excellent patient care in accordance with regulatory standards.

We are looking for someone who has a passion for dentistry, with the necessary skills and seeking a new career with the potential of growth and progression, within our newly owned practice.

Due to the complex and varied nature of this position, we strongly favour candidates who possess a minimum of one year experience and have a proven ability to adeptly handle challenging situations in a proficient and professional manner.

Responsibilities:



- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during procedures

- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care

- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation

- Order and maintain dental supplies and inventory

Skills:



- Strong verbal and written communication skills

- Highly organized with attention to detail

- Team-oriented and collaborative

- Knowledgeable in dental terminology, procedures, and instruments

- Skilled in taking x-rays and using dental software

- Compassionate care for patients of all ages

- Proficient in infection control protocols

- Ensure equipment and clinical areas are prepared and maintained

- Strictly adhere to infection-control measures

- Accurately document dental charting and patient records

- Efficiently prepare, mix, and manage dental materials

- Set up and conduct dental radiography procedures and process images

- Support and reassure patients during treatment, offering advice as needed

- Make appropriate referrals to other healthcare professionals when necessary

Qualifications



- Strong communication skills

- Organisational skills

- Basic understanding of infection prevention & control

- Proficiency in English

- Familiarity with IT systems

- Ability to provide patient care

Note: Applicants must be available to work Fridays and Saturdays



Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: 12.21-12.50 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 14.5 per week

Ability to commute/relocate:

Barnsley S70 1RY: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Experience:

Dental nursing : 1 year (preferred)
Work Location: In person
