Abbeydale Dental Care is a modern, well-established mixed NHS/private practice set in the heart of Nether Edge, Sheffield. We now require a proactive, experienced Dental Practice Manager to lead the operation and continue driving our growth and quality standards.
Your role
Lead the day-to-day management of the practice, ensuring smooth operation of both clinical and administrative functions.
Line-manage the team (clinicians, dental nurses, reception/administration staff), including performance reviews, training and development.
Handle human resources duties such as recruitment, training, performance appraisals, and staff development.
Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements (including Care Quality Commission (CQC), HTM 01?05, General Dental Council (GDC) guidelines).
Oversee financial performance: budgeting, invoicing, payroll, stock control, P&L oversight.
Drive practice growth: diary management, private treatment initiatives, marketing, patient experience.
Utilise and oversee our practice management software, including Dentally, to deliver high-quality data, record-keeping and reporting.
Maintain and update practice policies and procedures, ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality and service.
What we're looking for
Proven experience in dental practice management (minimum 1 year), ideally in a mixed (NHS/private) setting. Experience in other managerial fields are also accepted.
Strong leadership and people-management skills, with the ability to motivate teams.
Good commercial awareness, experience of managing budgets and KPIs.
Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and a proactive mindset.
Proficient in dental software systems, ideally Dentally (or similar).
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both with team members and patients.
Commitment to high standards of patient care and professional ethics.
What we offer
Competitive salary: 28,000 - 40,000 per annum, depending on experience.
40 hour working week (Monday-Friday 8:30-5:30) in a single-site practice, providing a strong work/life balance.
