We are seeking a professional and friendly Dental Receptionist to join our busy NHS dental practice. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, responsible for managing appointments using our dental specific software, handling administrative tasks, dealing with patient queries and processing financial transations.
Previous office and administrative experience are desirable qualities for applicants as you must have a pleasant manner and be able to manage a consistently busy working environment
Previous dental experience is preferred but similar a busy reception environment would be considered. Reception duties within the beauty industry would not be considered similar.
Responsibilities
Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival
Manage patient appointments efficiently using practice management software
Answer phone calls, respond to enquiries, and direct calls as appropriate
Handle patient check-in and check-out procedures accurately
Maintain accurate patient records and update personal information as needed
Process payments and organise billing in accordance with practice policies
Ensure the reception area remains clean, organised, and welcoming
Support the dental team with various administrative tasks to facilitate smooth daily operations
Skills
Proven experience in an office or administrative role, ideally within a healthcare setting
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Proficiency in using computer software
Ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment
The role requires professionalism, organisation, and a genuine desire to assist patients and support the dental team.
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: 13.00 per hour
