Chelwood Dental Care is a well-established, independent dental practice located in the Roundhay/Moortown area of North Leeds. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality care in a friendly, professional, and welcoming environment. We are now looking for an experienced, customer-focused Dental Receptionist to join our supportive team on a part-time basis. Mondays & Tuesday with a possibility of a 3rd day if desired.

The Role

As the first point of contact for our patients, the receptionist plays a vital role in shaping the patient experience. We are seeking someone who is confident, organised, and highly professional, with a strong background in customer service--ideally within a dental or medical setting.

You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the front desk while providing a calm, reassuring, and efficient service to our patients.

Key Responsibilities

Welcoming patients warmly in upon arrival, ensuring a friendly environment and assisting with check in procedures Answer phone calls, respond to enquiries, and direct calls appropriately. Managing appointment diaries, recalls, and follow-ups Responding to patient queries and converting enquiries into bookings Processing payments accurately and efficiently Carrying out administrative tasks to ensure smooth daily running of the practice Liaising closely with clinicians, nurses, laboratories, and referral practices to support smooth practice operations

Skills & Experience

Proven experience in a customer-facing role (dental or medical reception experience highly desirable) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise Confident IT skills, including patient management systems and digital communication Financial awareness and accuracy when handling payments A friendly, professional approach with a clear understanding of patient confidentiality
