We are looking for a
Full-Time or Part-Time Receptionist
to join our friendly and supportive team of
45 professionals
. Carriage Works is an
independent, award-winning mixed NHS and private dental practice
, offering an exceptional working environment and a strong focus on patient care.
Our practice provides a wide range of services including general dentistry, advanced restorative care, implants, orthodontics, endodontics, periodontics, facial aesthetics, and conscious sedation, supported by excellent hygienists, therapists, and clinical teams.
Purpose of the Role
As a key member of our reception team, you will play a vital role in the
patient journey
. You will be the
first point of contact
for our patients, delivering a first-class experience both in person and over the phone.
Working within a busy reception team, you will be responsible for managing appointments and patient communications via telephone, email, and correspondence. Your experience and contribution will be essential as the link between patients and clinicians, supporting the continued growth and success of our expanding practice.
Key Responsibilities
Providing a welcoming, professional first impression to all patients
Managing appointment bookings and patient diaries
Handling patient communication by phone, email, and letter
Liaising effectively with clinicians, laboratories, and suppliers
Maintaining strict patient confidentiality at all times
Upholding the practice's core values consistently
Essential Skills & Experience
Reception and administration experience (dental or medical preferred)
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Confident with IT systems
Strong organisation, coordination, and time management skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a busy team
Friendly, dependable, punctual, and trustworthy
Professional and approachable, even in stressful situations
Desirable Skills & Experience
Dental or medical reception experience (full training provided)
Experience using
Exact SOE
Knowledge of dental abbreviations and terminology
Desire to develop professionally and gain further qualifications

Ability to build strong rapport with patients
Motivated and enthusiastic about high-quality patient care
