to join our Plaster Room team at BioCity. This role is focused on the production of
vacuum-formed appliances
such as
Essix retainers, night guards, whitening trays, and sports guards
. You will be responsible for model preparation, precise articulation, and appliance fabrication, contributing to high-quality, patient-ready products.
Key Responsibilities
Model Preparation
Pour, trim, and articulate plaster models with accuracy for case planning and appliance fabrication.
Vacuum-Formed Appliance Fabrication
Produce a range of thermoformed appliances including:
Essix retainers
Whitening trays
Sports guards
Night guards
Material Handling and Maintenance
Handle plaster and vacuum-forming materials with care and consistency.
Maintain cleanliness and functionality of lab tools and forming equipment.
Quality Control
Inspect all appliances for accuracy, durability, and finish before delivery.
Team Collaboration
Work closely with lab coordinators and technicians to meet case deadlines and production targets.
Regulatory Compliance
Adhere to laboratory health and safety protocols, infection control procedures, and workflow standards.
Requirements
Minimum
2 years' experience
as a Dental Technician in a lab setting.
Proven expertise in
vacuum-formed appliance fabrication
.
Proficient in
model pouring, trimming, and articulation
.
High attention to detail and strong manual dexterity.
Ability to read and interpret dental prescriptions accurately.
Effective time management and communication skills.
Desirable but Not Required
Familiarity with
digital dentistry workflows
or
3D printing technology
.
