The Deputy Manager plays a vital role in supporting the overall operations and management of the nursery. This position requires a proactive leader who can effectively oversee staff, ensure compliance with policies, and maintain a safe environment.
The remit of the SMT is to ensure the successful management of the establishment to the benefit of children, families and the wider community in compliance with national and local authority guidance and the statutes relating to the provision of education and care to staff and children.
Responsibilities
To provide overall management of the playrooms and staff whilst creating and maintaining a warm, welcoming and nurturing environment.
Ensuring that the expertise of staff is recognised and is employed in such a way that children and their parents benefit fully and that members of staff may be clear about their individual roles.
Consulting with staff on the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the establishment policies and procedures and highlighting changes as and when identified.
Promoting the professional development and welfare of staff both collectively and individually
Cooperating with training institutions, assisting in the initial training of staff and providing support to newly trained staff through the mentor programme.
