To support the Care Manager in leading and managing the delivery of home-care services in line with company standards and Care Inspectorate requirements. The Deputy Manager ensures safe, effective, high-quality care and supports staff, manages day-to-day operations, and acts as second-in-command for compliance and service improvement.
Duties
Assist the Care Manager with lead generation and networking activities to support service growth.
Build and maintain positive relationships with local professionals and community partners.
Represent the service professionally at events and meetings.
Assist the Care Manager in supervising and mentoring care staff.
Oversee rota management, staff allocation, and scheduling.
Support development and review of care plans and risk assessments.
Conduct observations, audits, and compliance monitoring.
Handle complaints and incidents under guidance of the Care Manager.
Participate in recruitment, induction, and training of care staff.
Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with health & social care regulations.
Act as point of contact for clients and families when required.
Participate in on-call rota and cover for the Care Manager during absence.
Requirements
Minimum SVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (willing to work towards Level 4 ).
At least 1 year experience in domiciliary care in a supervisory or senior care role.
Strong organisational and communication skills.
Knowledge of Care Inspectorate standards and adult support and protection.
Ability to manage staff performance and support team morale.
