We are now seeking a
dedicated, flexible, and hands-on Deputy Care Manager
to support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of our community care service.
The Role
This is a
hands-on leadership role
within a community care setting. Due to the nature of domiciliary care, flexibility is essential.
The role includes:
Participation in the
on-call rota
Covering care calls when required
, including emergencies and staff shortages
Flexible working hours, including evenings and weekends when necessary
Regular travel across the community to support staff and service users
Key Responsibilities
Support the Registered Manager with daily operations and service delivery
Ensure compliance with
CQC regulations
, company policies, and care standards
Supervise, mentor, and support care staff
Assist with recruitment, inductions, training, and spot checks
Support rota management, emergency cover, and continuity of care
Complete audits, quality monitoring, and improvement actions
Maintain accurate care records and documentation
Build strong relationships with service users, families, and professionals
Promote a culture of dignity, respect, and person-centred care
Essential Requirements
NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (Level 5 desirable or willingness to work towards)
Experience within
domiciliary/community care
Previous experience as a
Senior Carer, Team Leader, or Deputy Manager
Must be a driver with access to a reliable car
(essential)
Willingness and ability to:
Participate in
on-call duties
Cover care calls when required
Work flexibly to meet the needs of the service
Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
Good understanding of
CQC standards, safeguarding, and quality assurance
