Deputy Care Manager
to support the Registered Manager in maintaining
CQC compliance
, driving quality improvements, and supporting the continued development of our service.
This role offers flexibility, with working hours
initially expected to be 3 days per week
, with the potential to increase
up to 5 days per week
as the service grows.
The Role
As Deputy Care Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the service operates safely, effectively, and in line with
CQC regulations and best practice
. A core part of the role will involve
undertaking care assessments
, completing and reviewing audits, and using
technology and digital systems
to improve oversight, quality, and outcomes.
Alongside management responsibilities, the role will include
some care calls
and participation in the
on-call rota
, supporting continuity of care and service resilience.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Registered Manager in ensuring ongoing
CQC compliance
across all five key lines of enquiry (Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive, Well-led)
Undertake
initial and review care assessments
, ensuring care plans are accurate, person-centred, and risk assessed
Complete and oversee a
range of audits
, including care plans, medication, MAR charts, spot checks, supervisions, training, incident reports, and complaints
Assist with audits, quality assurance processes, and preparation for CQC inspections
Monitor care quality through spot checks, audits, and digital reporting tools
Support the
implementation and effective use of care management systems
, including electronic care planning, rostering, and monitoring tools
Use technology and audit findings to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for service improvement
Supervise, mentor, and support care staff through regular supervision and appraisals
Assist with recruitment, inductions, and ongoing training and competency assessments
Participate in
on-call duties
(shared rota)
Undertake
occasional care calls
when required to support the service
Support safeguarding processes, incident management, and complaints handling
Ensure accurate, compliant, and timely record-keeping
About You
NVQ Level 4 in Health & Social Care (Level 5 desirable or working towards)
Experience in a senior or supervisory role within domiciliary care
Strong working knowledge of
CQC regulations, audits, and inspection readiness
Confident undertaking
care assessments and reviews
Comfortable using
digital care systems and technology
(or keen to develop this)
Highly organised, quality-focused, and detail-oriented
Willing to be hands-on, including care calls and on-call when required
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
