Overview


The Deputy Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the overall operations of a Children's Home, ensuring that high standards of care are maintained for young people. This position involves working closely with the manager to oversee daily activities, implement care plans, and provide leadership to staff. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in children's home care with a passion for enhancing the quality of life for young people in residential homes.

Duties



Assist the Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the home, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices. Supervise and support staff, providing guidance and training to enhance their skills in delivering exceptional care. Develop and implement individualised care plans for young people, ensuring their needs are met effectively. Monitor the well-being of young people, particularly those with emotional and behavioural difficulties or other challenges, and adjust care strategies as necessary. Foster a positive environment that promotes dignity, respect, and independence among young people. Collaborate with professionals to coordinate care and support services for young people. Maintain accurate records related to residential and staff performance, ensuring confidentiality is upheld. Participate in recruitment and training processes for new staff members, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

Skills



Proven experience in residential child care or senior residential child care settings is essential. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team. Proficient in developing and implementing effective care plans tailored to individual needs. Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with young people, families, professionals and team members. Ability to supervise staff whilst fostering an environment of teamwork and collaboration. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in maintaining records and documentation. A compassionate approach towards caring for others, demonstrating empathy and understanding at all times. Working hours



This is an on-shift deputy manager role. Your hours will be 08:00 - 23:00, followed by a sleep-in. Your shift pattern will be 3 on 3 off on a rolling rota. You will be required to complete all sleep-ins on your shifts.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to 49,500.00 per year
