Some people see a flickering light. You see leadership, reliability, and peace of mind.
We're looking for a capable, hands-on, and quietly exceptional
Deputy Maintenance Manager
to join our team at Connaught Care--a luxury, experience-led care home group where calm, comfort, and behind-the-scenes excellence are part of the promise we make to every resident.
With six beautifully designed homes open and six more in development, Connaught is one of the UK's most forward-thinking and hospitality-inspired care providers. Residents enjoy elegant surroundings, high-end service, and complete peace of mind. Your role? To help make sure their home stays safe, smooth, and beautifully maintained--every single day.
What You'll Be Doing
Supporting the Maintenance Manager, you'll be a trusted second-in-command--someone who not only carries out day-to-day maintenance but also helps coordinate, guide, and uphold the standards that make a Connaught home exceptional.
You will:
Assist the Maintenance Manager in planning, prioritising, and delivering maintenance tasks across the home
Carry out general maintenance, repairs, and safety checks to keep everything running smoothly and reliably
Take ownership of maintenance requests, responding with urgency, professionalism, and a resident-first mindset
Support compliance with health & safety, fire safety, and regulatory standards (training provided)
Help oversee contractors, site visits, and inspections
Monitor stock levels, equipment needs, and ensure the maintenance area stays organised and safe
Provide support and direction in relation to maintenance issues and queries when required
Maintain beautiful outdoor areas (weather and home-dependent)
Step up to lead the maintenance function when the Maintenance Manager is out of the business or on annual leave, supported by a step-up allowance
What You'll Bring
Experience in maintenance, facilities, or a similar environment--ideally in care, hotel, or hospitality settings
Strong practical skills across basic plumbing, electrics, joinery, or general repairs
A calm, organised, methodical approach--even when juggling multiple requests
Confidence to take initiative, prioritise, and make sensible decisions when leading the department
A supportive, people-first attitude--recognising that a repaired radiator or secure handrail can make a profound difference to someone's day
Pride in keeping a home running quietly, safely, and seamlessly
A willingness to learn, grow, and take on more responsibility over time
Why Connaught?
Because in a Connaught home, comfort is more than a feeling--it's an environment built with care, thought, and absolute reliability. Residents should never have to think about faulty lights, wobbly fixtures, or sudden breakdowns. And thanks to you, they won't.
As a Deputy Maintenance Manager, you'll be valued not just for what you fix, but for the calm leadership and reassurance you bring. You'll grow, be trusted, and help shape a home where residents truly Live a Life More Extraordinary.
Here, your work matters. Quietly. Constantly. Completely.
