Purpose of the Role:



To manage and deliver professional Placements and Alumni services, ensuring students gain valuable employability experiences and maintain strong links with industry and alumni networks. The role involves organising workshops, career fairs, and employer events to enhance students' employability, supporting graduates in job preparation and applications, and building partnerships between the institution, employers, and alumni.

Responsibilities



To support the Placement Manager in coordinating, administering, and overseeing work placement activities for undergraduate students, ensuring placements are well matched to students' profiles and compliant with Health and Safety requirements. To assist in business development activities aimed at sourcing suitable employers to host placement students, maintaining a database of potential and existing partners. To liaise with employers to ensure placements meet programme requirements and comply with relevant Health and Safety vetting and institutional guidelines. To assist in facilitating the full placement cycle, including advertising opportunities, shortlisting candidates, screening applicants, arranging interviews, gathering feedback, and confirming offers. To ensure completion and accuracy of all contractual paperwork by students, employers, and academics, maintaining proper records. To monitor and track placement progress, responding promptly to student and employer enquiries or issues, and escalating concerns where appropriate. To collaborate with students, employers, academic and support staff to ensure a high-quality and compliant placement experience for all parties. To contribute to building and maintaining long-term relationships with employers and placement providers, supporting future student opportunities. To supervise and support Placement Officers, providing guidance and ensuring consistent implementation of placement policies and procedures across campuses. To assist in developing new placement opportunities and initiatives, working in partnership with academic teams and external organisations to enhance employability outcomes. To prepare and maintain placement data, trackers, and reports, ensuring timely and accurate submission to the Placement Manager and relevant Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). To participate in and coordinate employability and placement-related events, such as workshops, employer visits, and pre-placement conferences. To undertake any other duties assigned by the Placement Manager or senior management that are commensurate with the role. To adopt a flexible approach to work, including occasional early morning, evening, or weekend commitments as required. To work in full compliance with Scholars School System (SSS) organisational policies and procedures.

Experience



Substantial experience of working in a university placements role, or in a similar environment relating to recruitment, careers or employment. Masters Degree in relevant academic discipline. Evidence of continued professional development in employability, careers, or placement management Management of relationships with internal and external stakeholders, negotiating and delivering positive outcomes. Good understanding of current trends/issues in placements and work-experience. Experience in supporting students through the placement process, including matching, monitoring, and evaluating placements. Demonstrated ability to coordinate and deliver employability events, workshops, and employer engagement initiatives. Experience of working as part of a multifunctional and fast-paced team within an education or business environment.

Job Type



Basic hours are 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM on site Full-time, Permanent This role may involve travel to other campuses, with all travel costs reimbursed.
