We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Deputy Manager to join our team in providing exceptional care within our Care at Home service. We have two operational offices. You will be based between Ayrshire and Clydebank.
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a passion for senior care, ensuring that all residents receive the highest standard of support.
The Deputy Manager will assist in overseeing daily operations, supervising staff, and maintaining a safe and nurturing environment for the people we support, particularly those requiring dementia care and medication administration.
Responsibilities
Assist the Manager in the overall operation of the care at home service, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
Supervise and support staff members, fostering a positive team environment and promoting professional development.
Oversee medication administration and ensure that all health and safety protocols are followed.
Provide direct care to residents as needed, including personal care and assistance with daily living activities.
Develop and implement individualised care plans for residents, regularly reviewing their progress and adjusting as necessary.
Facilitate communication between residents, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
Lead training sessions for staff on topics such as dementia care, senior care practices, and emergency procedures.
Maintain accurate records of resident care and staff performance.
Requirements
Previous experience in a supervisory role within an assisted living or care at home setting is essential.
A relevant qualifications in health and social care is highly desirable such as SVQ 4.
You will be a car driver with your own transport.
Strong knowledge of medication administration protocols and dementia care practices.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively.
Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on building relationships with residents and their families.
A compassionate approach to senior care, demonstrating empathy and understanding of the needs of elderly individuals.
Ability to work flexible hours as required by the needs of the facility.
