32,000 per annum + tronc + 1,000 annual training allowance



We are looking for an experienced

Deputy Manager (Barista & Operations)

to support the Owner in the day-to-day running of the business while leading our coffee operation and barista team.

This is a senior, hands-on role suited to someone who thrives in service, leads from the front, and cares deeply about standards, people, and consistency.

The Role

As Deputy Manager, you will:

Management & Operations



Support the Owner with the overall operation of the business Act as the senior manager on duty in the Owner's absence Lead, supervise, and motivate front-of-house and barista teams Support recruitment, onboarding, training, rotas, and performance management Maintain excellent customer service standards across all service areas Assist with stock control, ordering, cash handling, and operational procedures Support opening and closing routines Contribute to business improvement, sales initiatives, and team culture

Head Barista & Coffee Leadership



Take full responsibility for coffee quality, consistency, and presentation Lead and develop the barista team, setting clear service and workflow standards Create and maintain brew recipes, guides, and service specifications Train and mentor baristas to a high professional standard Manage coffee stock, ordering, rotation, and waste control Liaise with suppliers and support seasonal or menu changes Ensure correct calibration, cleaning, and maintenance of coffee equipment Maintain food safety, hygiene, and allergen compliance for beverage service
About You

You will ideally have:

Proven experience as a senior barista, head barista, supervisor, or assistant manager Strong coffee knowledge and a genuine passion for quality and consistency Experience leading teams in a fast-paced hospitality environment Confidence managing service, people, and operational detail A calm, professional approach under pressure High standards of cleanliness, organisation, and food safety A positive, proactive leadership style
Hours & Pay

Salary:

32,000 per annum

Hours:

Average 40 hours per week on a rota basis, with flexibility required during peak periods This is a senior role, and the salary reflects responsibility and flexibility (no overtime payments) This is a daytime role

Please note: due to the seasonal nature of the business, annual leave is generally restricted during peak trading (April-September).

As part of this role, you will actively participate in promoting Crowst through social media, including appearing in content and supporting brand campaigns. You are encouraged to develop your own professional profile, with approval required for any business-related posts.
