We are seeking a Deputy Manager to join our team and play a pivotal role in ensuring our homes not only meet but exceed the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and the Quality Standards.
About the Role
As Deputy Manager, you will:
Support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home, stepping up in their absence.
Lead, supervise, and inspire the care team to deliver outstanding, child-centred practice.
Champion safeguarding, therapeutic approaches (PACE or similar), and children's rights.
Oversee care planning, risk assessments, and behaviour support strategies.
Ensure compliance with Ofsted requirements, audits, and quality assurance processes.
Contribute to staff recruitment, induction, training, and rota management.
Help create a safe, welcoming, and nurturing home environment.
About You
We're looking for someone who is:
Qualified to at least Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
Experienced with 2+ years in children's residential care, including staff supervision or leadership.
Knowledgeable in safeguarding, trauma-informed practice, and regulatory compliance.
Flexible, resilient, and able to lead by example in a fast-paced environment.
Committed to personal and professional development.
Desirable:
Experience of shift leading and a driving licence.
