Our client, a leading specialist provider of therapeutic residential care, is seeking a dedicated Deputy Manager to join their warm and nurturing children's home in Cheltenham. Key Responsibilities:
Support the Home Manager in the daily operations of the residential setting overseeing a three-bed home caring for young people with learning difficulties and emotional and behavioural needs
Ensure safeguarding standards are maintained, providing supervision and mentorship to all staff members
Lead and manage team members effectively, fostering a positive, nurturing environment
Assist with operational tasks, including maintaining compliance and ensuring smooth home running
Promote empathetic and strong relationships with young people, their families, and external agencies, aligning with therapeutic community principles
Contribute to staff training and professional development, including opportunities to complete an NVQ Level 5
Support the implementation of evidence-based therapeutic approaches such as the Pillow of Parenting (POP) model

Ideal Candidate Profile:
Minimum of one year's experience in residential children's social care, ideally as a Senior Support Worker or equivalent
Strong understanding of Trauma-Informed Care and therapeutic practices
Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent qualification)
Valid UK Driving License
Knowledge of The Children's Home Regulations and current legislation
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to challenge and mentor staff with confidence and nurturing approach
Clear DBS check and positive references in working with children or vulnerable adults
Resilient and capable of managing challenging situations with calmness and professionalism
Willingness to learn about therapeutic placements and PACE principles (advantageous)
