Baby Gems Playhouse is looking for a caring, confident and enthusiastic Deputy Manager to join our friendly team

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced childcare professional to take on a dynamic and rewarding role.

We are a well established childcare provider that has been operating for the last 15 years in the Ladywood area and are looking for that knowledgeable, strong member of management to join us.

This is a permanent long term position offering 25-30 hours per week term time between 7am-6pm and varied hours during holidays. You will be working in our breakfast club, Preschool and after school club, and holiday playscheme with children aged 2years-12years.

You will monitor and support a small team of staff, ensuring the supervision, safety and educational support for the children in a caring play environment which incorporates the EYFS.

You will work along side and closely with the other deputy and Playhouse Manager to make sure the team and business is run effectively

Some duties includes -

1. Day to day management of the setting, including adhering to policy and procedures, ensuring compliance with legislation e.g. Ofsted etc, quality improvement.

2. Act as designated safeguarding lead at the setting holding overall responsibility for safeguarding and child protection matters and referrals.

3. Lead the staff team making sure the highest level of service is provided, complete staff meetings, supervisions and train any new staff, making sure that staff and management are compiling with all policies and procedures and staff training is up to date.

4. Ensure high standards of care, play and learning in line with EYFS.

5. Liaising with parents, carers and children and building positive relationships and handling any issues effectively and promptly that may arise.

6. Working with the team to make sure outstanding learning opportunities and care are been delivered throughout the setting and monitoring planned activities

7. Attend any meetings or courses that need to be attended and keep on top of CPD.

8. Work along side SEND staff or have Knowledge and experience regarding SEND.

Essential - Level 3 qualification or above/Minimum of 2 years experience in a deputy position/ a genuine interest in working with children/ Experience in a preschool or nusery setting/Great leadership and excellent communication skills / working as part of a team / positive drive towards helping and enhancing children's development / Eyfs and Ofsted Requirements/trackers for 2year-3year old

Desirable - First Aid / Food Hygiene / Safeguarding/Senco knowledge and experience.
