DEPUTY MANAGER REQUIRED

The ideal candidate will ideally have a Level 3 (min) full and relevant Early Years Childcare qualification & a strong working ethos to provide a high level of care as well as a desire to support the holistic needs of all children from birth to 4 year olds.

We are looking for a dedicated, hard working Deputy who will lead & support the team in running our nursery & on a day to day basis. You must be focused on self reflection & be critical in order to achieve Outstanding Outcomes for Children.

You must also have excellent knowledge of the EYFS & the Welfare Requirements, be driven to lead a team, confident to problem solve & take accountability for the setting in the managers absence. Opening hours 7.30am-6pm

We are looking for creative & fun people to join our team of 'BrightStars.' You must have a warm & smiling face that makes every child feel special & loved. If a child requests that you be a princess, you will want to be the very best princess you can be, singing in tune is not necessary but being able to sing in front of a crowd is essential, especially frozen or most tunes from Disney.



You must possess the skills to rapidly headcount the heads of numerous small moving people & must feel comfortable entering public places on the way home with unknown substances on your clothing. You must be able to stay focuses in environments with high noise levels, pretend to eat play dough creations, moo like a cow & munch like a giraffe.

You must feel comfortable with being asked personal questions like 'do you go to the toilet, what did you have for lunch, are you married?' & also comfortable sitting on furniture that doesn't contain your behind. You must be able to read a story out loud and be happy to get at least one interruption per page & authentically show an interest in bugs & creepy crawlies, even if they are your biggest fear on earth.

You must be focused on meeting not only the child's needs, but their parents, carers & any other adult who feels they 'know what is needed'. You must want to engage the parents & understand that they know their child best & provide excellent customer service.


Duties



Create and implement age-appropriate activities that promote early childhood development. Supervise children during their play, ensuring a safe and supportive environment is maintained. Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff to foster positive relationships. Manage daily routines, including meal times, nap times, and outdoor play. Observe and assess children's progress, documenting their development and sharing insights with parents. Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a clean, organised nursery space that is conducive to learning. Support the team by mentoring less experienced staff members. Working together to collectively. Foster a culture of where Safeguarding holds the upmost priority. Manage the nursery & staff team in the absence of the manager.

Skills



Strong background in Early Childhood Education & relevant qualifications in childcare. Experience working with children in a nursery or similar setting is essential. Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written. Ability to drive initiatives that enhance children's learning experiences. Strong organisational skills to manage daily tasks effectively. A genuine passion for working with children and contributing positively to their growth.
