About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and skilled
Deputy Manager
to support the launch and daily operations of a new 2-bedded children's home in Burton on Trent. Working closely with the Registered Manager, you will help shape and maintain a positive, therapeutic environment that meets the needs of children with emotional, behavioural, and mental health challenges.
This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday (9am-5pm), with flexibility for occasional weekend availability as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the Registered Manager in the daily management and strategic development of the home
Lead, guide, and motivate the care team to deliver high-quality, consistent care
Work directly with children with EBD, SEMH, mental health needs, and learning disabilities
Contribute to the design and implementation of personalised care plans
Promote a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment
Ensure compliance with Ofsted and safeguarding standards
Plan and oversee educational, recreational, and therapeutic activities
Requirements:
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) -
required
Minimum 2 years' experience in a residential children's care setting -
required
Previous leadership or supervisory experience -
desirable
Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills
Compassionate, resilient, and child-centred approach
Full UK Driving Licence -
preferred
