As Deputy Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day management of the home, ensuring compliance with Ofsted regulations and safeguarding standards. You will support the Registered Manager in leading the staff team, overseeing care delivery, and ensuring the home is a positive, supportive environment for both children and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Registered Manager in ensuring the home meets Good or OutstandingOfsted standards.
Lead shifts, supervise staff, and ensure effective care planning.
Act as a role model for high-quality, child-focused care.
Support in recruitment, induction, and staff development.
Oversee safeguarding practices, ensuring all concerns are addressed promptly.
Maintain accurate records, risk assessments, and reports.
Deputise for the Registered Manager when required.
Essential Requirements
Experience in a supervisory role within a children's residential setting.
Working knowledge of the Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and safeguarding legislation.
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards Level 5).
Strong leadership and communication skills.
