Deputy Manager Children's Residential Care



Location:

Sellindge, Ashford, Kent

Salary:

33,000 - 35,000 per annum

Sleep Rate:

60 per additional sleep

Contract Type:

Full-time, 40 hours per week (predominantly 9:00-17:00)

Reporting to:

Registered Manager/Responsible Individual/Director

Background Checks: All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check

Our brand-new, beautifully designed, modern children's homes are built to the highest standards, offering a warm and nurturing environment where children can thrive. Every detail has been carefully considered to ensure a safe, inspiring, and homely space for children to grow.

We have two beautiful new cottages, headed up by our experienced and exceptional Registered Manager. Our homes are small, and will have a maximum two children per home as we are child-centric in our approach.

The Role: Deputy Manager



As a Deputy Manager, you will be a crucial part of our leadership team, working alongside the Registered Manager to ensure the smooth running of the home. You will play a pivotal role in providing high-quality care, emotional support, and guidance to both the children and the team. In the absence of the Registered Manager, you will take full responsibility for the home, ensuring all operations run seamlessly.

Key Responsibilities:



Leadership & Support:

Assist the Registered Manager in all aspects of managing the home, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for children.

Quality Care:

Deliver the highest level of care in line with individual care plans, ensuring children feel safe, valued, and supported.

Team Management:

Support, supervise, and develop staff, ensuring they receive appropriate training and professional growth opportunities.

Regulatory Compliance:

Maintain high standards of care in accordance with Ofsted regulations, ensuring all legal requirements are met.

Collaboration:

Work closely with external professionals, families, and stakeholders to create tailored care plans for each child.

Crisis Management:

Provide stability and support in challenging situations, ensuring children's emotional and physical well-being remains the top priority.

Continuous Improvement:

Keep up to date with legislation and best practices, implementing necessary changes to maintain excellence in care delivery.

What We're Looking For:



Experience:

Minimum of 2 years in a leadership role within children's or adult residential care.Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare or Adult Care (or equivalent) required. Level 5 in Leadership & Management (or willingness to work towards) preferred.
